Brehm Named
First-team Academic All-District
UW-Stevens
Point senior outfielder Chuck Brehm has been named to the first-team
Academic All-District squad by the College Sports Information Directors of
America and ESPN The Magazine.
A Spencer native, Brehm was one of three outfielders and the only Wisconsin
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player on the squad which includes all
Division II, Division III and NAIA players from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana
and Minnesota. With the All-District selection, he is now eligible for
Academic All-American honors. Brehm also earned All-District honors last
year and was the first Academic All-American in school history, receiving
third-team laurels.
Brehm carries a 3.88 grade point average in Physical Education and ranks
among the national leaders with 15 home runs this season. The WIAC Position
Player of the Year, Brehm hit the game-winning home run in Saturday�s NCAA
Division III regional final, sending the Pointers to their first Division
III World Series since 1997. Overall, Brehm is hitting .337 with 48 RBI�s
and a single-season school record 26 stolen bases. He ranks second in school
history with 35 career homers and 50 stolen bases |
