named the NCAA Division III Position Player of the Year by the National

UW-Stevens Point junior outfielder Chuck Brehm became the
first Pointer baseball player to be named an Academic All-American,
earning third-team honors on the team sponsored by ESPN The Magazine and

Game Short of World Series in Loss to UW-Whitewater
UW-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater have seen plenty of each other on the
baseball diamond over the last 17 days and it was the Warhawks who
claimed the ninth and final encounter and a trip to the NCAA Division
III World Series with a 7-3 win in Sunday�s regional final in

Win Heartstopper to Clinch NCAA Tourney Bid
In a tension-filled afternoon in Wisconsin Rapids,
UW-Stevens Point rallied from a two-run deficit in the final two
innings, and still had to hold off a furious charge from top-ranked
UW-Whitewater to claim a 6-5 victory and the championship of the WIAC
Baseball Tournament. With the victory, the Pointers claimed the WIAC�s
automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Hold Off Pointers to Force Second Game for WIAC Tournament Title
In a gutsy performance, Greg Reinhard of UW-Whitewater
started his second game of the day and earned wins in back-to-back games
as UW-Whitewater forced a second championship game with a 4-3 triumph
over UW-Stevens Point in the WIAC Baseball Tournament at Wisconsin
Rapids. The two teams will meet again on Sunday at noon with an
automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament at-stake.
