UWSP Hockey Cheer

Pointer hockey cheer seems like your normal run of the mill cheer squad, but there is so much more than meets the eye.  We are a dedicated group of hockey fans and support the team and the community.  We attend every home game during the school year at the K.B. Willett arena, participate in Blue Line Club events, and do fund raising in addition to our “normal” cheerleader duties.  We cheer, chant, and stunt RIGHT in front of our fans and skate out with our team for starting line-up.  We’ve even been known to sing the national anthem together as a squad!  If you’re a fun loving individual who likes to meet new people, get involved, and try new things, then ask yourself “Do I have what it takes to join Pointer Hockey Cheer?!!”

Opening night!!

The 2006-2007 hockey cheerleaders gear up for an exciting debut

The first Stevens Point goal means the first stunt of the year.  Karen flies “The hanger”

Liana celebrates by flying a  thigh stand RIGHT in front of Rowdy crowd.  We show St. Thomas that our team is #1.

Sanya is our backspotting star for the night and even flew a stunt in the splits!!

Kim showcases her skills in a heel-stretch thigh stand.

When we’re not stunting….

Hockey cheer has a whole new repertoire of cheers and chants this year.  We do whatever it takes to get the crowd pumped up.

First period, we threw candy out to the fans.  Second period we kicked it up a notch by getting the crowd to dance to the tunes of the Pointer Pep band in between periods.

Singing is optional (as well as singing with your eyes open apparently)

Stay tuned for more!!
