Theo
Blanco - Football - 1985-88
Blanco
had the greatest pass receiving season in UW-Stevens Point
football history with school-records 23 touchdowns and 136 catches
for 2,025 yards during the 1987 season. He still holds school
records for career receiving yards with 3,564 and single-game
receptions with 17 in a win over UW-Oshkosh in 1987.
Blanco,
a Sturgeon Bay native, played at UW-Stevens Point from 1985-88 and
has since enjoyed an oustanding career in Sweden. He was a member
of three consecutive Swedish Super Bowl Champions, playing with
Stockholm in 1990 and Uppsala in 1991 and 1992. He also won the
first two Euro-Super Bowl Championships with Stockholm in 1994 and
1995. Blanco has spent time as a coach and television broadcaster
in Sweden and now serves as a consultant and national sales
manager.

Tom
Moris - Track/Cross Country - 1986-89
Moris was
an NCAA Division III national champion in both indoor and outdoor
track and field in 1988, winning the 5,000 meter indoor title and
the 10,000 meter outdoor title.
A native of St. Croix Falls, Moris also won Wisconsin
State University Conference track titles in both events and is a
four-time Division III track All-American. He twice finished in
the top ten to earn All-American honors at the Division III cross
country championships, finishing second in 1987 and 10th in 1986. Moris was the 1987 WSUC
cross country champion with a time of 24:10, which still stands as
the fastest winning time since 1968. He was a four-time
letterwinner in both track and cross country for the Pointers from
1986-89 and still owns the conference record in the 10,000 meters
with a time of 30:13.26 in 1988. A Natural Resource Management
major at UW-Stevens Point, Moris now resides in Onekama,
Mich. and works as a Fisheries Biologist with the United States
Forest Service.

Tim
Naegeli - Basketball - 1983-87
Naegeli
is the all-time leading scorer in UW-Stevens Point men�s
basketball history with 1,649 points from 1983-87. He was a
two-time All-WSUC performer as the Pointers won WSUC titles during
each of his four seasons and posted an overall 98-22 record.
A
Racine native, Naegeli holds the school record for career field
goals made with 689 and is tied with Terry Porter with a
school-record 117 career games played. He averaged 20.2 points per
game as a senior in 1986-87 and 18.9 points in 1985-86.
Naegeli�s career field goal percentage of 57.9 ranks fourth in
school history. He was the school�s oustanding male athlete in a
team sport and WSUC Player of the Year as a senior and was drafted
in the sixth round of the 1987 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics.
Naegeli
resides in Racine and is the Sales Manager with Electronic Systems
of Wisconsin, Inc. He was an assistant boys� basketball coach at
Racine Lutheran High School, helping the team to three Wisconsin
Independent Schools Athletic Association state championships.

Kate
Peterson - Basketball - 1987-1991
The
first long-range shooter in UW-Stevens Point women�s basketball
history, Peterson ranks
second in school history with 169 career three-pointers from
1987-91, including 77 three-pointers during the 1989-90 season.
Peterson was the team�s Most Valuable Player during the 1990-91
season, in which UW-Stevens Point made its second Division III
tournament appearance.
A
River Falls native, Peterson was a first-team All-Wisconsin
Women�s Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection and an
honorable mention Kodak All-American as a senior. She was a
two-time team captain and twice made seven three-pointers in a
single game.
Peterson has been an
assistant coach and the women�s basketball recruiting
coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 1997,
previously working at Eastern Illinois University and as a
graduate assistant at Indiana University.

Nino
Pisciotta - Swimming - 1986-91
A
six-time NAIA national champion, Pisciotta is the most decorated
swimmer in UW-Stevens Point history. He was a first-team
All-American 20 times during his career from 1986-91 and was a
four-time team Most Valuable Performer. Pisciotta was also named
the school�s outstanding male athlete in 1991. He won an
incredible five national titles at the 1988 national meet.
Pisciotta
graduated with eight school records and still holds the UW-Stevens
Point record in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:01.11. He
also is part of the record-holding 800 freestyle relay with a time
of 6:56.41. Born in France, Pisciotta was a French national
champion at age 13.
A Madison native, Pisciotta
currently resides in Denver, Colo. and works as a strength and
fitness coordinator.

Jeff
Stepanski - Swimming - 1982-86
Stepanski
was a two-time NAIA national champion in the 50-yard freestyle and
was a first-team All-American 17 times, while also earning five
honorable mention All-American honors during his career from
1982-86.
Stepanski was named the school�s outstanding male athlete in
both 1985 and 1986. His best season was 1985 when he was a
first-team All-American in six events.
A Menasha native, Stepanski
lives in his hometown and is employed by Foth & Van Dyke
Engineering of De Pere as a machine designer. He holds the
distinction of having caught and registered the world�s largest
rainbow trout at 22 lbs., 7 oz.

Red
Blair - Swimming Coach - 1965-97
One
of the longest-tenured collegiate swimming coaches of all-time, Blair
was a two-time national coach of the year and worked with 477
first-team and honorable mention All-Americans in his 32 seasons
with the Pointers.
Blair
was the NAIA coach of the year in 1990 and the Division III coach
of the year in 1997, while also earning WSUC coach of the year
honors three times. He led the Pointers� men�s team to 14 top
ten national finishes and the women�s team to three top 10
finishes. Blair coached 13 individual national champions and is an
NAIA hall of fame inductee.
Blair
was the president of the NAIA Swimming Coaches Association in
1976-77 and was the president of the NAIA National Coaches
Association for all sports in 1981-82. He was the recipient of the
College Swimming Coaches Association of America Master Coach Award
and Distinguished Coach Award.
Blair retired from UW-Stevens Point following the
1997 season and resides in Waupaca. |
