UWSP Art & Design students benefit from outstanding programs, dedicated faculty and staff, and an environment of discipline and motivation. Many opportunities exist for the development of critical thinking, creative abilities, and professional excellence.

Students both collaborate and compete with each other. Competition is strong for the multiple scholarships and awards given out each year. Student organizations cooperate to sponsor visiting artists and designers, trips to New York, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis, as well as many galleries and studios.
