This is a great opportunity to meet new people, experience new things, and have a blast!! Go ahead...try something new! Prior experience is not necessary, however, the trips are moderately strenuous.


Sylvania Portage and Paddle - Full
August 3-8, 2008

Quiet water canoeing, portaging, and wilderness camping will be our adventure on the lakes of the Ottawa National Forest located in the remote Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  We will paddle and portage to 13 of the many lakes that lie within 18,327 acres of protected area known as the Sylvania Wilderness, and explore nature and wildlife at its finest.  We will hear the calling of loons while nestled on the northwoods campsites and will travel by canoe through pristine waters surrounded by majestic pines in an old growth forest.  More Information

Superior Hiking Trail Backpacking
August 3-8, 2008

Put on your hiking boots and prepare to backpack on the scenic Superior Hiking Trail which runs parallel to Lake Superior.  Located in northeast Minnesota, the trail passes through rugged forests and hills, spanning elevations from 600 - 1,750 feet above sea level.  You will pass rock outcroppings, view vistas of Lake Superior, witness surging waterfalls, and enjoy the wonders of the north woods wilderness.  If you are lucky, you will even see one of Minnesota's legendary moose, as well as other wildlife along the way.  This experience will change your body physically as well as stimulate your senses with its scenery.  Located 265 miles northwest of Stevens Point, just north of Duluth, Minnesota.  More Information

Namakagaon/St. Croix Canoeing - Full
August 10-15, 2008

Canoe Wisconsin's only National Scenic Riverway on the Namakagon and St. Croix Rivers.  Float through some of the most beautiful back country areas in the state and learn "Leave No Trace" camping techniques.  Experience the abundant wildlife of the Namakagon River and the beautiful bluffs of the St. Croix River.  We will stay at primitive camp grounds along the river, with plenty of time each day for swimming, fishing, or just hanging out.  This trip is suitable for novice canoers, yet challenging enough to be fun for all.  Located 200 miles northwest of Stevens Point near Trego, Wisconsin.  More Information

Porcupine Mountains Wilderness Backpacking - Full
August 10-15, 2008

Explore one of the Midwest's largest areas of undeveloped wilderness along the spectacular shores of Lake Superior.  Join us and experience the picturesque overlooks, pristine lakes, wild rivers and cascading waterfalls as we travel through the backcountry of the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness. Towering white pines and abundant wildlife are always nearby.  You will be challenged by the rugged trails that climb from 600 to 1,958 feet above sea level at the top of Summit Peak.  At the end of the journey you will have traveled over 30 miles of this 60,000 acre tract of wilderness.  Located 200 miles due north of Stevens Point near Silver City, Michigan.  More Information

Sylvania Wilderness Fishing and Canoeing - Full
August 17-22, 2008

Get ready to paddle, fish and portage the pristine lakes of the Sylvania Wilderness Area surrounded by old growth hemlock and pine.  Fishing for bass in particular, is exceptional within this segment of the Ottawa National Forest in Michigan's scenic upper peninsula.  Under primarily catch and release regulations, the opportunity exists to catch a smallmouth in the 20", 5 lb. class.  Largemouth, Northern Pike and Lake Trout may also be angled for, and we may be able to make a tasty shorelunch of panfish!  Located 145 miles north of Stevens Point near Watersmeet, Michigan.    More Information

Pictured Rocks Backpacking - Full
August 17-22, 2008

Spend a relaxing week taking in the beauty of Lake Superior and the bluffs that Pictured Rocks of Michigan's Upper Peninsula is famous for.  We will hike an average of six to seven miles per day on the Lakeshore Trail, for a total for about 30 miles.  Our campsites are near the rocky shores of the lake where we can watch the sunset over Lake Superior and let the sounds of the waves lull us to sleep.  Waterfalls, sandstone bluffs, and a plethora of wildlife may be encountered.  Located 250 miles northeast of Stevens Point between Munsing and Grand Sable, Michigan.  More Information
