Major:
Communication;
Business and
Psychology
Minors
Hometown:
Jefferson, WI
Extracurricular/Campus Activities:
I am on the Track team, and I am involved with the
Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Why did you
choose to attend UWSP?
I chose UWSP because when I came here everyone was
very
welcoming. I had an
interest in a specific major and the
Admissions Office
helped set up a department meeting for me.
I also was interested in playing volleyball and had an
appointment to sit down with the volleyball coach to learn more
about the program.
Everyone at UWSP was just very helpful and concerned about
everyone learning as much as possible.
Favorite UWSP memory:
My favorite memory is meeting the friends that I currently
live with. I met them
through a variety of different ways and absolutely love living
with them in an apartment!
I also enjoy all the fun experiences I have had with the
track team. We always
seem to have a blast together!
What do you like most about going to
UWSP?
I like that the campus is small enough that
you can walk from one end to the other in about 15 minutes, but
yet it's not secluded from the rest of Stevens Point.
I also really like that the class sizes are so small.
All my teachers know my name so I feel like they know me.
Favorite study spot on campus:
The library is definitely the best place to study because you
can be in a relaxed environment or a quiet study environment.
You are also able to get together with study groups.
What do you like best about the Stevens Point community?
I like the size of the community because there is
always something to do!
What are your career goals?
I plan on either getting a job
related to retail or something dealing with
communication/business.
Otherwise, I would really like to go on to graduate
school for counseling.
I would like to be a grad assistant track coach and
eventually get a counseling and coaching position.
How has UWSP prepared you for your future?
I have learned how to live on my own, and realized that I am
well prepared for a future job that I might acquire.
I have also learned communication skills, writing skills
and business skills.
Career Services helps
with all kinds of interviewing skills and helps you meet people
in order to find jobs!
What advice would you give to a new UWSP student?
I would recommend asking a lot of
questions, and using all available resources.
People don’t even realize half the resources offered to
them. From computers, the
Tutoring-Learning Center,
Career Services, etc.
There is help everywhere as long as you find it!
Also, HAVE FUN!
