Major:
Communication
Minor:
German
Hometown:
Portage, WI
Extracurricular/Campus Activities:
The
Society for Human Resource
Management (SHRM) President and the
Cheerleading team. I also down
hill ski, snowboard, bike, kayak, hike, read, write, and I love photography.
Why did you choose to attend UWSP?
I love
the atmosphere of the campus!
This campus has more trees, open spaces, and opportunities for outdoor
activities than many of the other campuses I visited.
Favorite Place on Campus:
I love to hang out
at Schmeekle
or in the large grassy area by the Allen Center.
What do you like most about
going to UWSP?
I love the small classes and the one-on-one help
and support you get from professors.
What do you like most about the Stevens Point community?
The community is very supportive of the students and the campus.
Not only are students involved on campus, but the community
encourages them to participate off campus as well!
What's the best class you've taken?
The best class I've had was a small groups class in which we
were given the responsibility of interviewing members of the organization we
were working with to help them solve problems in their office.
It was an amazing opportunity to use the textbook information I have
accumulated over the years and put it into a real-life situation.
What are your career goals?
I really want to work for a large resort somewhere
doing event planning or human resources.
How has UW-Stevens Point prepared you for life after graduation?
I have acquired skills in written and oral
communication, self-esteem, time management, and too many others to name.
I have also gotten real-world experience through an internship and
many very focused classes that put all of your education to work.
So many of the professors here have contacts outside of UWSP that you
would be silly not to take advantage of them!
What advice would you give to a new UWSP student?
Two things that I make sure people know about when
I am giving tours are the Information
Technology office and the Tutoring
Learning Center in the basement of the Library.
Both offices have helped me enormously throughout my time at UWSP.
Also, the Career Services
office is awesome when it comes to getting ready for graduation!
