Major:
Political Science and
Public
Administration & Policy Analysis
Hometown:
Eau Claire, WI
Extracurricular/Campus Activities:
I'm involved with
Student Government
Association, Veterans Club of UWSP, Phi Sigma Alpha, and the General
Education Policy Review Committee. I also enjoy spending time with my
friends watching movies, skiing in the winter and golfing in the summer.
Why did you
choose to attend UWSP?
UWSP has the programs I wanted to get involved with (Public
Administration) and the campus is a very nice size - not too big
and not too small.
Favorite Event on Campus:
Free movies on Wednesday and Saturday.
What do you like most about going to
UWSP?
There is a lot to do on campus and in the city of Stevens Point.
The faculty are also amazing. They are so helpful and are really
easy to get along with.
Favorite Professor:
Dr. Dennis Riley. He has a real passion for politics and is able to
portray the issues in a way that is easy for students to
understand.
What do you like best about the Stevens Point community?
The people are really friendly and the city is in
the perfect part of the state. Everything is about 2 hours or
less away.
What are your career goals?
I plan to go to Graduate School to
receive a Masters of Public Administration.
How has UWSP prepared you for your future?
I have learned to be a critical thinker. This is
something that I know I will use for the rest of my life. Due
to my experience with SGA I have gotten to know many
administrators on campus and have met personally many times with
two of the Vice-Chancellors.
What advice would you give to a new UWSP student?
Don’t go home every weekend. You will grow to love
college even more if you spend time here. And if you can,
study abroad. I
spent 16 days in Scotland and England and it was one of the most
fulfilling experiences of my life.
