Introduction
In Business Administration you will study the principles and procedures involved in managing and operating a successful business enterprise. Courses are available in general management, finance, marketing, production, business law, international business, social responsibility, and business ethics, among others. Math skills are vitally important to completing the Business Administration major.  Throughout the program you will also use accounting and develop critical thinking skills.

Our interdisciplinary approach fosters communication abilities and cognitive skills enabling graduates to make rational decisions. Functional knowledge of business administration is also provided.

High School Preparation
Business-related courses such as marketing, accounting, mathematics, and economics will prepare you for a major in business administration.

Department Features
The teaching faculty in Business Administration represent a wide range of both academic and practical industry experience and expertise in their chosen career fields. There are excellent modern classrooms and computer-equipped laboratories. The latest technologies are integrated into each classroom and each instructor’s preparation. An especially fine collection of business-related books, articles, newspapers, government documents, and other references are readily available in the University’s library or through the interlibrary loan system.

Career Opportunities
Graduates in Business Administration have an excellent range of job opportunities in domestic as well as international manufacturing and service industries, for example, general management, starting and owning their own business, insurance, marketing and sales, finance and banking, human resource management and personnel, management information systems, and labor and industrial relations. Opportunities also exist with many not-for-profit and governmental agencies.

Sample Program of Study for the Business Administration Major
The Business Administration major consists of 46 credits. Students may declare a Business Administration major or minor at anytime. For both the Business Administration major and minor, the student must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average in ALL required and elective courses in the Business Administration major and minor. The following sample program of study is taken from the catalog.  Students failing to maintain the 2.5 GPA may be dropped from the major.

The internship program of the Division of Business and Economics is designed to provide students majoring in Business Administration, Economics or Managerial Accounting a special experiential work-related opportunity. An internship allows a student to gain practical experience in areas related to career and long-term professional goals while earning academic credit. International opportunities, including summer internships in China and Europe, are recommended. The postgraduate placement record for students graduating with an internship experience is outstanding.
