Below is a list of UWSP academic departments along with the appropriate person(s) to contact to schedule a departmental visit. (You should also use these contacts if you wish to change or cancel a previously scheduled visit.) High School Students Only:
Appointments available at 11:30 OR 1:00 most weekdays
Transfer & Reentry Students: We
would be happy to meet with Transfer or Reentry students, once they follow the
directions below:
The School of Education has a special section of our web site dedicated to
transfer and reentry students. We would suggest starting there, and following
the directions carefully, as soon as possible. The section on getting a credit
evaluation is very important as that is what you will need to do to help
determine how long it will take to pursue your teaching license. Once you have
received your credit evaluation, you are invited to call and make an appointment
to meet with an advisor in the School of Education. It is important to make
sure we offer the teaching major you are looking for.
The requirements to apply to our program are also available on the
School of Education web site. You must be admitted to our program a semester
prior to starting the upper-level education course work.
NOTE: There are additional requirements to apply for each individual
major, so you will want to check out the "enrollment caps" carefully.
The web site is:
http://www.uwsp.edu/education. First choose "undergraduate" and then make
sure to check out the "transfer/reentry" and "student handbook" links. These
sections will direct you to such things as getting a credit evaluation,
requirements to apply to our program, enrollment cap policies, curriculum
planning sheets, etc.
If you are thinking about starting school within the next year, it is
important to get admitted to UWSP as soon as possible: please go to
apply.wisconsin.edu to get started on an electronic application.
Please call the School of Education Advising Office if you have any
questions. Our phone number is (715) 346-2040.
