Things to Know Before You Visit:

Schedule Your Visit
  • This visit is for admitted Fall 2017 students only, and students will NOT be registering for classes during this event.
  • This is not a mandatory event.  However, the New Student Orientation in June will be required for all incoming students.  Registration packets for New Student Orientation will go out in March.

  • Academic Departments will not be available. However, our ViewPoint Days or weekday visits offer great opportunities to schedule a meeting with your academic area of interest.

  • Parking: All campus lots are open and free on Saturdays. You do not need to plug the meters in any lot on Saturdays. The lots are referenced on your map and driving directions below.

  • Check-in is from 8:00-8:30 a.m., during which you will be able to pay your enrollment deposit, register for Regional Placement Testing, submit an application for housing, Living Learning Communities, the ARC to Success program, and student organizations, among other things. Come early to take care of these important tasks!

  • Lunch tickets will be sold at the event for $6.00 each. Lunch will be served in the DeBot Center, our main campus dining facility.

*Please note that lunch and tours are optional.  You will have a campus tour available during your summer Orientation visit.  The last tour leaves at 1:30pm.


Driving Directions to UW-Stevens Point:

  • From Green Bay and eastern Wisconsin
    Take Highway 29 to Wausau, then I-39/ Hwy 51 south to Stevens Point. Take exit 159 and drive west on Stanley Street into the city. The parking lots are referenced on your campus map.

    OR Take Highway 41 to Appleton , then Highway 10 west from the Fox River Valley. Then follow Highway 66 west into Stevens Point. The parking lots are referenced on your campus map.


  • From Madison and southern Wisconsin
    Take I-39/Hwy 51 north to Stevens Point. Take exit 159 and drive west on Stanley Street into the city. The parking lots are referenced on your campus map.


  • From the Milwaukee area
    Take I-94 west and north to I-39/Hwy 51 above Madison. Take I-39/Hwy 51 north to Stevens Point . Take exit 159 and drive west on Stanley Street into the city. The parking lots are referenced on your campus map.


  • From Minneapolis/St. Paul and western Wisconsin
    Take I-94 east to Hwy 29 east. Follow Highway 29 east to Wausau, and then take I-39/Hwy 51 south to Stevens Point. Take exit 159 and drive west on Stanley Street into the city. The parking lots are referenced on your campus map.

    OR Take I-94 east and south to Osseo. Take Highway 10 east past Junction City and then follow County HH into Stevens Point. Turn left onto Hwy 66 east. Turn left onto Fremont Street. The parking lots are referenced on your campus map.


  • From Wausau and northern Wisconsin
    Take I-39/Hwy 51 south to Stevens Point. Take exit 159 and drive west on Stanley Street into the city.


Important Parking Information: Free parking is available in all campus lots on Saturdays. You do not need to plug the meters in any lot on Saturdays.
