Intra-College Software Grants

Intended Purpose:

The fund is to be used to purchase software that will be used by students as part of their coursework. It would be expected that the purchase would be for licenses for labs and copies for instructors.  It is meant for software that is not used in multiple colleges.

Administration:

Administration of these grants is the responsibility of each College. The College may determine guidelines for distribution. Monies must be used for the intended purpose (see above).

Support from Information Technology:

Information Technology should be involved in the following ways:
    • Consult with your College Support Team person who can work with other Information Technology Staff and can verify that the software has not already been purchased by someone else.
    • Work with Adam Limberg to determine feasibility, and which kind of license should be purchased so it can be installed in the appropriate lab(s).
    • Work with Terri Zabrowski who handles software purchasing for the campus.
    • We recommend that purchases go through IT because we have information about licensing, contracts, etc.
    • Adam and Terri can also advise on the number of licenses (often less than you may think) that may be needed.
    • Work with Adam Limberg to schedule installation of the software in the lab(s).
