Equipment Loan

UWSP offers computing equipment for students and staff to check out. The UWSP Library handles laptop checkout for students. You can check out information about their program here.

Faculty and staff can check out tablets, laptops and projectors for work-related purposes through the Help Desk.

  • Equipment is reserved on a first-come first-serve basis and equipment must be picked up by a UWSP faculty/staff member. 
    NOTE: Please provide a valid photo ID when picking up equipment.  If the name on the reservation will not match the individual who is physically picking up the equipment, please let us know ahead of time by sending an email to ithelpdesk@uwsp.edu.
  • Equipment can be reserved for up to a two-week period.
  • The academic department assumes responsibility for loss and/or damage resulting from negligence of a unit checked out through this service. A $30 surcharge will be applied along with the cost of the part.
  • A $15 dollar per day fee will be applied for equipment not returned on-time (only applied Monday - Friday).
  • Reservations requesting more than 2 laptops or 2 projectors must have prior authorization from a Help Desk manager.

All fee’s are charged to a department account, contact your department to determine reimbursement options.

Available Equipment

There are currently 6 tablets (non-MAc's), 1 laptops (non-Mac’s) and 5 projectors that may be checked out by faculty and staff. There is also 2 combo units available which include a laptop and projector in a travel carry case w/wheels.

Reserving Equipment

To reserve a piece of equipment or check availability please contact via phone or email.  The Help Desk can be contacted at 346-HELP (4357) or 1-877-832-8977 or email helpdesk@uwsp.edu.

Faculty/staff must complete the Equipment Reservation form.

Location and Hours

Pickup/return of items takes place 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, Monday-Friday at the Help Desk, Room 023 LRC.

A photo ID may be required at the time of pickup.
