Community Visitor Accounts
As part of the Stevens Point community, UWSP often shares its
resources. In the case of network access, UWSP has a program called
"Community Visitors." Members of the community and UWSP alumni can
apply for a UWSP logon and password which will then enable them to
log on to designated computers in the reference area of the library or via our campus
wireless network. Visitor access to the Reference Room is limited to
Library hours only as shown on the Library web site and posted
on the Library entry doors.
From the Reference room, visitors will be able to use the
Internet, Library catalogs, and software like Microsoft Word. They
can pay to print here also.
Accounts are not granted to minors, and applicants agree to abide
by UWSP Network Usage Policy; violators will be denied further
access to UWSP Computing.
When a Community Visitor attempts to log on to a computer they do
not have access to, they will see the following message:
This computer is reserved for UWSP students, faculty, and staff
or special university guest account holders. You must be a UWSP
student, faculty, or staff member or be assigned a special
university guest account in order to log on to this computer. If you
are unable to log on to this computer or you are a community visitor
with an account that begins with the number "7", there are public
access computers in the reference room on the first floor of the
library. For more information, please ask the lab assistant or call
Information Technology Computer Labs Management at x4156.
