Affiliated Student and Staff Accounts

University affiliated people, such as guest speakers, guest students and staff from another educational institution attending a meeting at UWSP may obtain a special account for access to UWSP's computer resources.

Affiliated Students and Staff Requirements and Restrictions - "5" Accounts

  • Alumni should receive a 7 account NOT a 5 account.
  • Accounts beginning with a "5" have extended logon permissions. They may use kiosks, any computer in a computer lab, or a classroom computer (if needed), etc. They may also access the campus wireless network via a WVPN connection.
  • Students enrolled at another institution requesting this type of an account must provide proof of enrollment, such as a current semester schedule. Student ID's may not be the best "proof" in this case, because a student may NOT be enrolled, but may still have their ID.
  • Students enrolled at another institution must be 18 or over to receive this type of account.
  • Affiliates or students enrolled at another institution may be granted printing privileges. The Print Accounting Manager will make this decision.
  • This is not available yet, but very soon (hopefully by early next week) Help Desk staff will have the ability to create these accounts in ULAM (similar to creating 7 accounts). For now if you need to create a 5 account contact Jessie.
  • The community visitor form is being modified, which will include a section for determining what type of an account is to be created. (Dianne is working on this and again we should have this by early next week)
  • 5 account agreement forms should be stored in the binder called "Current 5 Community Visitor Logons".
  • To obtain this type of account the individual needs to visit the Help Desk with a current photo ID. (Students enrolled at another institution must also provide proof of enrollment)
