Develop creative, technical skills through the UW-Stevens Point Division of Interior Architecture
The Division of Interior Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point immerses you in the exciting world of interior design. Our program reflects human needs and preferences while sharpening your creative, technical, technological and critical thinking skills.
Earn hands-on design experience
As an interior architecture student at UW-Stevens Point, you will engage in extensive professional training in designing an array of interior spaces ranging from retail space to corporate offices. In addition, the four-year professional program curriculum is carefully designed to teach you design history, design communication and drawing, socio-cultural aspects of design, technology and sustainable design. Your design exercises will be regularly displayed in the hallways of the College of Professional Studies and in a dedicated gallery.
Complete portfolio reviews
Progress toward your degree is monitored through an admission portfolio review at the end of your first year in the interior architecture program. The review allows you to begin the professional sequence of interior architecture courses. The senior portfolio, which is completed just before graduation, prepares you to present your best work to prospective employers. It also includes a public exhibit of your work for professional designers, faculty, students and your family and friends.
Explore: internships and study abroad
The best way to gain a real-world experience as an interior architecture student is to complete an internship. Working with a professional designer allows you to challenge yourself, learn a design specialty and establish professional connections.
The UW-Stevens Point interior architecture program also offers a wide range of study abroad experiences. Join us for a three-week study abroad program offered each summer or do a semester abroad in a country of your choice while focusing on design, architecture and art of each region.
