FAQ

I cannot give a large donation. Will my small donation help the university?
We welcome your donation of any amount. All gifts add up quickly. In fact, gifts of under $100 annually total nearly $200,000.

What is an endowed fund?
An endowed fund is created by investing funds and using the earnings to support a program or scholarship on campus. The minimum to start an endowment is $10,000, but you can fund a future growth fund with smaller contributions over a period of ten years. Endowment funds are often used to support student scholarships, provide additional funds to programs and departments, and help with essential services to students. This support is critical to the quality of our programs and services and helps keep a UWSP education affordable to many.

How can I find out if my employer matches my donation?

What is the difference between a restricted and unrestricted gift?
A restricted donation is used to support a specific program or scholarship designated by the donor. An unrestricted donation is used where the need is the greatest on campus.

What does the UWSP Foundation do?
We secure financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations, award student scholarships every year, and yearly distribute money in program support to the campus. We manage assets of over $17 million. Foundation staff process, receipt, and acknowledge all donations. We provide accounting support for over 400 funds, and conduct the annual campaign that brings in approximately a half million dollars each year. Our staff provides resources, support, and leadership for all fundraising efforts on campus.
