Welcome to the School of Education UWSP Teacher Licensing.
UW-Stevens Point works with area teachers in a variety of capacities:
- Emergency licenses
- Additional certifications
- Extended grade/age levels
- Professional development/Continuing Education
- Master’s degrees are available in a variety of areas.
The following Add-On Certification Areas are available through UWSP and may be incorporated within the Master’s degree:
- Adaptive Physical Education
- Early Childhood
- Family and Consumer Science
- Health Education
- Reading Teacher (316)
- Reading Specialist (17)
- Special Education (Cognitive Disabilities, Early Childhood Special Education, Emotional Disturbances, Learning Disabilities).
UWSP is currently working on additional licensing programs in Alternative Education, Bilingual/Bicultural Education, Broadfield Language Arts, and Gifted Education. Our website will be updated as these are submitted and approved by DPI.
Out –of-State teachers who have applied for their Wisconsin license and have been informed of deficiencies by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction are invited to take courses through UWSP Continuing Education to meet deficiencies in Native American Tribes of Wisconsin, Human Relations, Environmental Education, Conflict Resolution and Cooperatives.
