Welcome to the Project Forward Program! My name is Mai Vang and I
am the Program Coordinator. Project Forward is a title VII grant
that provides the opportunity for Hmong American students to become
certified teachers within the state of Wisconsin.Project Forward has
had a very successful five-year run. The Project Forward grant will
end in June 2005.
Project Forward has accomplished much at UW-Stevens Point. By May
2005, the grant will have supported 17 Hmong American students to graduate
with Education degrees: surpassing the original goal of 12 students.
The program will continue to work towards its objectives of counseling and
supporting its participants and maintaining close relationships with other
university departments who are involved in the grant. The advisors
and coordinator at UWSP could not be more pleased with the participants
and the results of this grant.
