Assistantship Information and Position Description
School of Communicative Disorders
I. General Information
The School of Communicative Disorders has a long history of funding graduate students through assistantships. Typically, approximately half of our on-campus full-time graduate students are on an assistantship. Though not guaranteed, virtually all of our assistantship recipients from out-of-state have also received a waiver of the nonresident portion of the tuition fees.
Criteria for awarding assistantships are based on a composite of academic per- formance as reflected in the overall undergraduate grade point average. Letters of recommendation are also considered.
The graduate assistantship requires 5-10 hours of work during each week of the semester. The general types of available work are assisting with classroom instruction, assisting with clinical instruction/operation, assisting with research and assisting with academic/administrative operations. These areas are described below.
Rank order your choices of assignments on your Assistantship Application.
