Berard Oaks
A
portion of the Green Circle Trail runs through the Berard Oaks, a
4-acre area being restored to an oak savannah. The Berard
Oaks are an easy 1/2 mile walk from the visitor center. Once
common in Central Wisconsin, oak savannah is now one of the rarest
habitats in the state. The large, spreading, red and white
oak trees in the Berard Oaks are well over 100 years and stand majestically
above the waves of grass below.
