Implementing the Plan,

This workshop will discuss plan
implementation as a key element of the comprehensive plan. The workshop will
address common plan implementation tools such as zoning, subdivision regulations,
and official mapping as well as the role of the plan commission in implementation.
It will also introduce participants to educational, voluntary and fiscal tools.
Understanding
TIF, Impact Fees, and Cost of Community Services,
May 14, 2008, Local Government Center, Balsam Lake, WI
This workshop will explore research and tools to analyze
and manage the fiscal impacts of land use decisions on local government
budgets.
Public Participation in the Planning Process,
May 6, 2008, Crawford County Highway Building, Seneca, WI
This workshop will provide the basics
of public participation as a key component in the development of your community's
comprehensive plan. The workshop will address techniques for identifying and
involving community members, methods to evaluate your participation process,
basic legal requirements for public participation, and local resources. Example
public participation plans will be shared and discussed.
Wisconsin Comprehensive Planning Law and the Plan Commission,
April 16, 2008, Crawford County Highway Building, Seneca, WI
This program provides a brief
overview of the WI Comprehensive Planning Law but focuses on the creation and
responsibilities of the plan commission, responsibilities of plan commissioners
as local officials and duties of the plan commission under the Open Meetings
Law. This program will provide a base of information for both new and existing
municipal plan commission members.

"Understanding zoning and its uses and implications"

This workshop will provide an
overview of what zoning is and how local governments use zoning to help carry
out comprehensive plans and make sound land use decisions.

Basics, including Plan Commissioner Background, Planning - Methods, Market and the Players,
