Complete Results

UW-Stevens Point posted automatic qualifying performances in both the mens and womens 1600-meter relays for next weeks NCAA Division III indoor track and field championships to highlight Saturdays Pointer Qualifier in Stevens Point.

The mens relay of Adam Baumann, Ryan Schroeder, Kyle Steiner and Nick VerDuin set a school record with a time of 3:15.63, but still finished second to UW-La Crosse. The Eagles clocked 3:15.29 as the two teams ran the second and third-fastest times in Division III this season and also both eclipsed the Multi-Activity Centers track record.

The womens relay of Andrea Irvine, Bree Peterson, Kathleen Folbrecht and Laura Simonis also set a school record by over two and a half seconds and had an automatic qualifying mark while finishing six-hundreths of a second behind UW-La Crosse with a time of 3:54.06.

The mens distance medley relay team of Greg Haak, Pat Leonard, Travis Nechuta and Dom Meyer also improved its standing for the national meet with a provisional time of 10:02.89, placing five-hundreths of a second behind Loras.

VerDuin added a provisional mark in the 400-meter dash at 49.26 seconds and Peter Prusinski finished with a provisional throw in the shot put at 51 feet, 4.5 inches.

No team scores were kept at Saturdays meet. The NCAA indoor championships will be held March 9-10 in Terre Haute, Ind.
