Relays Achieve
Provisional Times at Platteville
UW-Stevens Point�s men�s relay teams both
earned NCAA Division III provisional qualifying times to highlight the
performances at Sunday�s UW-Platteville Open.
The 400-meter relay team of Adam Baumann, Nick
VerDuin, Patrick Leonard and Ryan Schroeder was second in 41.92 seconds,
while the 1600-meter relay team of Baumann, VerDuin, Schroeder and Kyle
Steiner was third in 3:16.59. No team scores were kept at the meet.
Mitch Ellis was the Pointers� lone individual
champion at the meet, capturing the high jump title with a provisional
height of six feet, 8.25 inches, which was the third-highest jump in
Division III this season.
Greg Haak was the top collegiate finisher in
the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.08, while Travis Nechuta was
runner-up in the 1500-meter run at 3:57.50.
The Pointers� top women�s performances came
in the 100-meter dash where Liz Caine was second in 12.55 seconds and
Laura Simonis was third in 12.65 seconds. Beth Richter was runner-up in
the long jump at 17 feet, seven inches, while also placing third in the
javelin at 114 feet, 10 inches. Hannah Dieringer added a third place
finish in the 5000-meter run at 18:53.72. |
