Pointer Relays
Post Provisional Times at Drake
UW-Stevens Point had three NCAA Division III
provisionally qualifying relays for its top performances at the Drake
Relays on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
Both women�s relays of Andrea Irvine, Liz
Caine, Danielle Kinderman and Laura Simonis provisionally qualified as
the 400-meter relay posted a time of 48.64 seconds and 1600-meter relay
had a mark of 3:55.86. The men�s 1600-meter relay of Ryan Schroeder,
Kyle Steiner, Adam Lang and Nick Ver Duin had a provisional mark of
3:16.50.
Mitch Ellis added a provisional mark in the
high jump by finishing third at six feet, 8.75 inches. The Pointers had
two other solid performances as the distance medley relay of Travis
Nechuta, Steiner, Greg Haak and Dom Meyer was third in 9:59.31 and the
3200-meter relay of Nechuta, Haak, Adam Steinke and Lang was fifth in
7:38.78.
The Pointers also competed at the UW-Oshkosh
Open on Saturday and the women had two champions as Beth Richter
captured the long jump at 18 feet, 0.25 inches and Sara Bias won the
5000-meter run at 19:50.90.
George Carlson won the men�s 3000-meter
steeplechase in 10:06.13. Kyle Scofield was the top collegiate finisher
in the shot put with a provisional throw of 52 feet, 2.5 inches and Noah
Utecht was the top collegian in the javelin at 171 feet, seven inches. |
