Pointers Drop Match at Lawrence
The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team took
its first loss of the season on Tuesday with a 7-2 setback to Lawrence in
Appleton.
The Pointers had two singles victories Emily
Bouche posted a win at No. 3 singles and Allison Popple had a straight
sets win at No. 4 singles. Bouche won a 10-point pro-set over Lisa Ritland
10-5 and Popple posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over Adriana Teodoro-Dier.
Catherine Thornburg also battled to a pro-set
at No. 1 singles before losing to Susan Klumper 10-5.
The Pointers are now 1-1 and take part in the
UW-La Crosse Invitational over the weekend.
